Hanaka Yamamoto

6th Place — All Japan Novice Championships

“I want to give a performance that stays in people's hearts.”

Since her third year of elementary school, Hanaka has attended the Japan Skating Federation’s National Promising Newcomer Discovery and Selection Camp (Nobeyama Camp) every summer. Held in Nagano Prefecture since the Nagano Olympics, the camp is a well-known stepping stone for Olympic skaters—including Olympic champion Shizuka Arakawa.

This year, she was selected as a seeded skater recommended by the Japan Skating Federation and placed 6th at the All Japan Novice Championships.
