Toddler & CH
TGA runs two distinct programmes—Toddler and Children's House (CH)—each with its own age-appropriate curriculum.
From our Toddler class through the Children's House (CH), children grow with the Montessori NAMC core curriculum and weekly enrichment. For the rhythm of a typical school day, see Daily Life.

TGA runs two distinct programmes—Toddler and Children's House (CH)—each with its own age-appropriate curriculum.
Core curriculum and weekly enrichment are included in the Kindergarten full-term program. Confirm any optional add-ons during enrollment.
Enrichment subjects rotate across the week so children enjoy variety without an overcrowded day. The current timetable is shared during your visit.
Toddler class
Our Toddler class follows a distinct, age-appropriate curriculum—separate from the Children's House (CH) programme below. Learning centres on safe exploration, early independence, and foundational motor, language, and social skills in a calm, nurturing environment.
01
Climbing, balancing, and coordinated movement build strength and confidence.
02
Grasping, stacking, and threading prepare little hands for writing and everyday tasks.
03
Dressing, hand-washing, and simple meal help introduce order and independence.
04
Texture, colour, sound, and size—discovered through hands-on sensory materials.
05
Songs, rhymes, and gentle bilingual exposure nurture early speech and listening.
06
Turn-taking and guided friendship build empathy, security, and warm relationships.
Children's House (CH)
The sections below describe our Children's House (CH) programme—the Montessori NAMC core subjects, signature programmes, sports, and weekly enrichment. These do not apply to the Toddler class above.
Montessori NAMC core curriculum
Our Children's House (CH) classroom program follows the Montessori NAMC curriculum—a structured, child-centered framework guiding children through interconnected areas of learning, from language and mathematics to the natural sciences, history, and culture. Each area builds on the last, supporting concentration, independence, and a love of discovery.
01
Continents, countries, and cultures—explored through maps, globes, and hands-on materials.
02
Number sense, operations, and geometry made concrete through sequenced Montessori materials.
03
Phonics, reading, and writing at each child's pace—in English and Japanese.
04
Size, colour, texture, and sound refined through materials that prepare the mind for learning.
05
Dressing, meals, and classroom care build coordination, order, and independence.
06
Plants and the living world—observed, cared for, and discovered by hand.
07
Animals and habitats through observation and classification—building care for living creatures.
08
Plants, animals, and the human body connected through scientific inquiry.
09
Timelines and stories that help children understand how societies grow over time.
10
Traditions and customs across cultures—deepening respect, empathy, and global awareness.

Geography, mathematics, language arts, sensorial work, and practical life form the Montessori NAMC core—each area building concentration and independence through hands-on Montessori materials.

Enrichment classes in calligraphy, tea ceremony, world art, music, gymnastics, sports, and ballet extend learning beyond the classroom—many taught by visiting specialists with years of experience.

Lessons are hands-on and sequenced so each skill prepares for the next. Teachers observe closely and present new work when a child is ready.

Hands-on materials turn abstract ideas into something children can touch, explore, and master at their own pace.
Distinctly TGA
These areas are integral to who we are at TGA—not add-ons, but foundations of how children learn, grow, and prepare for what comes next.
Our signature approach weaves Montessori principles with bilingual learning and global awareness. Through the TGA Method, children learn to write with purpose—practising letter and number tracing, pencil control, and guided pre-writing exercises that build fine motor skills and early literacy.
Dedicated English lessons strengthen reading, writing, speaking, and listening—the core of our English-medium programme and the confidence children need to express themselves clearly.
Structured preparation for the transition to elementary school—strengthening literacy, numeracy, study habits, and the confidence to succeed in the next stage.
Weekly enrichment
Specialty classes rotate through the week. Each session builds skills in creativity, culture, movement, or practical life beyond the core curriculum.
Sessions marked “Specialist-led” are taught by visiting professionals. Schedules may vary by term—contact the office for the current timetable.
Children experience Japanese tea ceremony in a calm, respectful setting. They develop focus, grace, and an appreciation for tradition.
Art projects follow the calendar of special occasions and seasons throughout the year—from Mother's Day and Christmas to other landmark celebrations. Children create work inspired by culture and the changing seasons.
Structured music lessons build listening skills, coordination, and confidence. Children learn to read notation, keep rhythm, and receive instruction on violin and piano.
Classical ballet instruction in a disciplined studio setting develops poise, coordination, and discipline. Children explore artistic expression through movement and music.
Traditional Japanese shodō develops focus, patience, and fine motor control through careful brushwork and form. Students who complete the course receive an official calligraphy certificate.
Hands-on cooking uses seasonal recipes to prepare fresh, age-appropriate dishes throughout the year. Children build preparation skills, follow clear sequencing, and develop an awareness of nutrition.
